Anticipating more visitors going to the second State of the Nation Address of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., the House of Representatives (HRep) will deploy more protocol officers (POs) on July 24, 2023.
On Wednesday, Deputy Secretary General for the Inter-Parliamentary and Public Affairs Department Atty. Grace Andres, together with Inter-Parliamentary Relations Service (IPRS) Director Carmencita Dulay, discussed with the augmented protocol force of the HRep the deployment plan for the SONA, reminded them of the points taught during the training they received weeks before the SONA and gave tips on how to properly assist VIPs to their seats at the Plenary Hall. IPRSAB Deputy Executive Director (DED) Rosemarie Santos explained the task of each PO is to ensure the orderly movement of SONA attendees to and from the Plenary Hall. POs shall also be positioned at the Plenary Hall to assist guests inside.
DSG Andres noted that POs from the Office of the President, the Senate, the Department of Foreign Affairs, and the Office of Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez shall also be present at the Batasan Complex during the SONA.
Thereafter, DED Santos led the HRep POs in a walkthrough at the North and South Lobbies and the Plenary Hall
