The physical facilities of the Batasan Complex is all geared up for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s second State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday, July 24, 2023.
House Engineering and Physical Facilities Department (EPFD) Deputy Secretary General (DSG) Engr. Floro Banaybanay stated that all of the event's internal and outside requirements, including the banner installations to be placed along Commonwealth Avenue had already been prepared.
EPFD Executive Director Renato Dela Torre said they are near completion of the overall physical preparations. "As of now, I can say na siguro nasa 95 percent prepared na tayo except dun sa mga minor changes alam mo na pag sa mismong malapit na yung SONA. But for the engineering facilities natin, iyong grounds natin, 'yong road network, kita niyo naman prepared na sya," ED Dela Torre said.
The sound system, electrical installation, and internet infrastructure are all nearing completion as well. He noted that only the remaining joint command center setups and requirements from the Radio Television Malacaang (RTVM) and Presidential Security Group (PSG) would be tested over the weekend.
