The House of Representatives (HRep) on Wednesday continued its coordination meetings with other agencies and media organizations in preparation for the second second State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
House Sergeant-at-Arms PMGen Napoleon Taas (Ret.) met with representatives from the Presidential Security Group, the Metro Manila Development Authority, the Philippine National Police, the Bureau of Fire Protection, and the Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms of the Senate, among others, to discuss dafety, security and traffic flow arrangements on July 24, 2023.
At the same time, the Press and Public Affairs Bureau (PPAB) of the HRep, led by Media and Public Affairs Service (MAPRS) Director Joaquin Romeo Santiago, met with the technical teams of television networks to hear the concerns on how their coverage of this year’s SONA could be improved, in terms of placement of their equipment, hook ups of live feeds, among others. Representatives from CNN Philippines, Philippine Television (PTV) 4, GMA News, ABS-CBN News, SMNI News, Net 25 Network, IBC-13, AllTV News and TV-5 News attended the meeting. Director Santiago emphasized how the HRep values the media’s part in ensuring that the public is well-informed of developments at the HRep. A second TV network coordination meeting will be organized to address the concerns raised during the meeting.
